About the event

The talk explores the background to the creation of the country.  It tries to give a balanced view of one of the World’s most contentious political issues.

Speaker, Jeff Rozelaar is a BA Hons History Graduate with over 55 years’ experience as a teacher from private schools to "prison" schools. Since the publication of his book "Bagels and Bacon" by the History Press in 2011 he has developed a career as a speaker for the U3A, WI and various other organisations around the Home Counties.

Jeff has written many books, his latest being a play about Benjamin Disraeli - Queen Victoria's favourite Prime Minister. A one man play he presents himself. It was performed at The Old Court Theatre, Windsor. He has directed over 100 plays and musicals and still takes leading roles on stage. In the professional world he currently works as a film extra or background artiste. In 1984, he part-produced a film entitled "Our Railway and Social History" for British Rail education. Jeff was an active sportsman and was once offered a trial for a professional football team. In 1997 he represented GB in the first indoor European Veterans athletic championship.
