About the event
Our final event for this session will take place at Ralli Hall on Tuesday 26th April. As a tribute to the late Godfrey Gould, we are making this a special meeting, with an opportunity to socialise before the talk, so please join us at 7.30 pm for tea and coffee, cakes and biscuits.
Our speaker (beginning at about 8.00pm) will be our JHSE member Gordon Franks, who will be speaking about ‘Sassoon Landmarks in Brighton & Hove’. Gordon has been researching the Sassoon connections in the City for some years, and will be telling us about the prominent members of the family who bought their seaside homes in Brighton and Hove, and even entertained Royalty. Their legacy is still remembered today in several places in the City, especially Middle Street synagogue, where there are many reminders of their generosity in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The talk will be not be available on Zoom and for this special occasion there will be no charge for entry. We very much look forward to welcoming you back to Ralli Hall.
