About the event

Our speaker (beginning at about 8.00pm) will be our JHSE member , who will be speaking about ‘Sassoon Landmarks in Brighton & Hove’. Gordon has been researching the Sassoon connections in the City for some years, and will be telling us about the prominent members of the family who bought their seaside homes in Brighton and Hove, and even entertained Royalty. Their legacy is still remembered today in several places in the City, especially Middle Street synagogue, where there are many reminders of their generosity in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.Gordon Franks
