About the event

The Tower of London was largely built with "taxes" extracted from the Jews of medieval England. For 200 years, until their expulsion in 1290, it was also the site of their imprisonment and death. After the Stuarts, the Tower ceased to be a regular prison. But one twentieth century Jew was jailed in the Tower. Ian weaves the story of what he did to be there and who he was with a history of the Tower.

Nowadays, our speaker Ian Bloom is a freewheeling legal consigliere. Previously, he was a publisher and writer, but primarily a media lawyer. His articles have appeared in the Times, the Observer, the Daily Telegraph, the New Statesman, the Jewish Chronicle and Jewish News and others. Ian is interviewed regularly on LBC, Talk TV and other stations on media law topics.

This talk can be attended in person or online via Zoom, the details will be sent to you alongside your tickets
