About the event
Explore the rich Jewish history and hidden gems of Whitechapel and Spitalfields on this fun city stroll!
Discover the parts of the East End of London on an exciting Jewish Whitechapel and Spitalfields Walk.
We will see the Jewish influence in the area, look at some old synagogues, converted Huguenot chapels, a soup kitchen, Jewish housing project, some famous Jewish east enders, and Brick Lane and Petticoat lane. And much more besides. We look at artists, politicians, entertainers and villains from the Jewish East end and much more besides.
We will meet at the Entrance: Whitechapel Gallery, 77-82 Whitechapel High St, London E1 7QX, Aldgate East Tube from 10.45am and will finish the walk at Spitalfields Market. We will then go on to a cafe/pub to get drinks/lunch for those who wish to join.
