Of the many crises that shook the world in the years following the Second World War,
the struggle between Jews and Arabs for Palestine had a distinctly intense and wideranging effect on public opinion. This talk analyzes the emotional pull of the Palestine
war in the realms of both high politics and popular culture in the Americas, Europe,
South Asia, and the Middle East.
