About the event
William Pimlott is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Birkbeck Institute for the Study of Antisemitism. His doctoral research at UCL, explored the flourishing Yiddish press and literary world of Britain c1900, recontextualising the history of Britain’s immigrant Jewish community within broader Jewish transnational movements. He is now working on the Global Yiddish Press, 1890-1920.Yiddish in Britain: Immigration, Culture and Politics, 1896-1910
