About the event
William Pimlott is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Birkbeck Institute for the Study of Antisemitism. His doctoral research at UCL, Yiddish in Britain: Immigration, Culture and Politics, 1896-1910 explored the flourishing Yiddish press and literary world of Britain c1900, recontextualising the history of Britain’s immigrant Jewish community within broader Jewish transnational movements. He is now working on the Global Yiddish Press, 1890-1920.
William has written for a variety of academic and non-academic publications, including Jewish Historical Studies, In Geveb, the London Review of Books, Tribune, and Jewish Currents.
