Katharina (she/her) is a final-year PhD student at Freie Universität Berlin, where she works on the project Materialized Holiness on the socio-historical, halakhic, and kabbalistic significance of Torah scrolls from antiquity to the nineteenth century. She is co-chair of the NGG, and her research focuses on Jewish legal history, especially the development of scribal laws and women’s roles within the halakhic system.

Cécile (she/her) recently completed her PhD at Queen Mary University of London on the photographic practices of Algerian Jews during the French colonial period. She is co-chair of the NGG, and her research focuses on the social and cultural lives of Jews in France and across its empire, with a particular interest in Jewish visual culture.

Sophie (she/her) is a second-year PhD student at Durham University whose Northern Bridge–funded research (with the Tyne and Wear Archives) explores twentieth-century Jewish communal life in North East England. She joined the NGG Board at the start of this academic year and is also part of an interdisciplinary Durham team working with at-risk Jewish heritage in Sunderland.

Rosalie (she/her) is an early career researcher specialising in religion and gender in the Middle Ages and currently serves as Network Coordinator of the NGG. She recently completed her PhD at the University of St Andrews and is developing her thesis into a monograph, exploring menstruation, menopause, and identity in medieval Jewish and Christian texts through comparative, multilingual analysis.
